  FASTING BLOOD SUGAR(GLUCOSE) FBS

  A fasting blood sugar test measures the amount of sugar in your blood after you haven’t eaten for at least eight hours. It’s a screening test for diabetes. 

  Normal fasting blood sugar level 

  • A fasting blood sugar level of 70–99 mg/dL (3.9–5.5 mmol/L) is considered normal

  Abnormal fasting blood sugar levels 

  • • A fasting blood sugar level of 100–125 mg/dL (5.6–6.9 mmol/L) is considered prediabetes
