| Usage: | Manganese is a trace element that is an essential cofactor for several enzymes. Environmental sources of Manganese can lead to toxicity. This assay is useful for evaluating central nervous system symptoms similar to Parkinson’s disease in manganese miners and processors. It is also useful for therapeutic monitoring of Cirrhosis, environmental exposure to manganese and nutrition related manganese toxicity. It also helps to evaluate Behcet’s disease. This is the recommended test for monitoring therapy. |
