The definition and staging of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) depends on proteinuria and other markers of kidney disease. 2012 KDIGO guidelines recommend using the 2009 CKD-EPI creatinine equation for estimating GFR in adults. The guideline also recommends using serum creatinine and a GFR estimating equation for initial assessment of GFR. |
